Choosing the Right Dog Door for your Beloved Dogs

Dog door for doggies means “Freedom” for both your dog and for you. The dog can go in and out of the house anytime, and the owner has flexibility in his schedule -- no more running home to let pet out.

By this time, you might think of buying Dog Door but what are the things you need to consider?

Choose the right Dog Door Size:

1. Measure your dog's height from the top of the shoulders, just behind the front legs, and his width at the chest, and size your dog door accordingly.
2. Measure your dog's width. Use a tape measure to determine the widest part of his body, typically his shoulders, just below his neck. Sometimes the hips are larger, so measure just above the back legs.
3. Weigh your dog. The dog's weight may affect what kind and how durable of a dog door you should purchase, such as an electronic dog door or electromagnetic dog door for a larger dog. Dog flaps might also work for a small dog.

Your ideal dog door is sized to fit the standing height of your full-grown dog when measured from the top of the shoulders, and the width at the chest. It features an easy-closing magnetic flap, or, for added security, and electronically activated ‘key' system to keep out unwanted guests and improve energy efficiency. The dog door should only give your pet access to an enclosed outdoor area, such as a fenced-in yard.

Dog door is one that you should carefully monitor, knowing that your pet is not One Hundred percent safe using the door when you’re not home.
